John Nieland brings broad management experience, an in-depth research background in immunology and an expertise in the development of biopharmaceuticals and coordination and development of clinical trials. He worked as head of immunology and later director of research at Medigene AG, where he was involved in the development of the AAV-HPV vaccine and held the position of vice president preclinical research at Borean Pharma. John initiated and collaborated on numerous projects, has published more than 30 articles and is the inventor of 15 patents, including several on the AAV vaccine platform. In addition to his scientific experience, John has extensive business experience and is the founder/co-founder of three biotech companies.

Preben Bruun-Nyzell is an executive with more than 20 years of international experience. He is co-founder of 2A Pharma and served as CFO from 2016-2019. He was previously Chief Financial Officer of Qatalum in Qatar, an aluminium producer with annual sales of USD 1.5 billion, and has held senior positions with EMAL in Abu Dhabi, Arqaam Capital in Dubai, Accenture and PwC in London and Hoffmann-La Roche AG in Basel, Switzerland. Preben holds a degree in Business Administration from Lancaster University in the UK and Università Bocconi, Milan, Italy. He is Chairman of the Board of Apoglyx AB and CEO of sister company 2N Pharma ApS.

Emma has a wide experience in molecular cloning, cell cultivation, transfection and other biochemistry methods. As a Laboratory Technician she works on performing different assays, such as ELISA, and optimises methods that are used in the lab to generate successful results.

Nicole is responsible for 2A Pharma’s external communication, including social media.  She has experience from previous roles in marketing, public relations, corporate communication, and public diplomacy. Nicole holds a MA in Culture, Communication and Globalisation from Aalborg University, Denmark, and a BA in Media, Information and Communication from Saxion University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands.
